The number one resources connecting travelers to the African Diaspora Globally. Trusted amongst her peers as a ‘’connector’’ she is always connecting the dots to ensure the travel industry is mindful of diversity, not just as a ‘Buzz word’’ but an action that produces results. As a Digital Disruptor whose immensely in love with all things travel, Martinique strives to change the narrative by advocating for travelers that represent different demographics across multiple platforms. My mission is to change the face of tourism forever, so that we all feel represented and see ourselves reflected! Q+A: What about being a black creator is special to you?My perspective! Being able to do things from my POV and not feel like I have to change things to be accepting to society is gold. 10 years ago Black creators couldn't create from that angle because our narratives weren't accepted, but now times have changed and our experience, is like that of none other. What does being rooted mean to you?It means going the extra mile, when no one's asked you to and when people aren't grateful. It means doing things when no one is watching and that you may never hear Thank you for. It means being that safe space for someone to trust you with their troubles and you listening, offering solutions and helping them get on their feet. It means sharing your network to connect the dots and put the next person on. How have you stayed motivated to overcome challenges?I always tell myself this is not what God promised you. He says your cup runs over baby, he said you can have the desires of your heart,so know trouble doesn't last always. I tell myself this too shall pass. Where do you find inspiration?In places and spaces that lack Black faces. That's always my cue to create it, and pull up my own seat to the table. Why do you feel it is important to support Black Travel Alliance?Because we solely exist to support Black content creators in the travel space, so they can reach their highest potential with the tools and opportunities we can offer them. That takes effort, time, and money.
